Serving One Another – Beloved Women – October 20, 2023

“If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet.” (John 13:14 ESV)
TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT
During a mission trip to Ethiopia that I experienced a customary “feet washing.” Though my Ethiopian hosts did not have much materially, they were rich spiritually. They expressed love for me by their actions.
In John 13, Jesus washed his disciples’ feet including Judas Iscariot, who later betrayed him. This fact was not lost on Jesus. Yet He chose to wash Judas' feet. Jesus gave Judas the gift of love, though he did not deserve it.
Have you had your feet washed by the Master? Jesus' example calls us to wash each other’s feet by serving one another. When we serve each other with grace, we allow others to experience the love of Jesus, and in return, we have the joy of being a blessing.
PRAY
Father, please help me follow Your example and open my eyes to the needs of others around me. Help me serve and love them with Your love. In Jesus Christ Name, I pray. Amen.
