The Lord’s Path – Beloved Women – October 22, 2024
READ: “But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:31 ESV)
TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT: Years ago, I took my children to Bible study. Each week, we had to choose between two paths to get into the building. The long smooth path or a short but bumpy one full of rocks, and potential hazards. My children used to be content to go the long way, but one day while running late, we chose the bumpy and short path. From that point forward, they always begged for the “shortcut.”
The last time we went, the Lord began to speak, “Many times people rush towards the quick and easy path, but it may not be the path that I laid out for you.” The question is, have you found yourself in this scenario? Maybe it was for a job, that you decided to take the job without praying, and it turned out to be a nightmare. Maybe it was a decision that you made that you knew would get you "there" quicker.
Whatever it may be, sometimes we must be willing to wait on the Lord and not be quick to lean to our own understanding or abilities. His path may take longer, but will always be more rewarding.
PRAY: Dear Lord, I thank you for Your path. At times, I may want to rush ahead. Teach me to be patient and trust You in all things. Your plans are more than enough for me. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.
REFLECT: Do I trust the Lord in the wait?
