TODAY’S TREASURE
Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways! “For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor? (Romans 11:33-34).
Dear Friends,
I love how this What She Said series unfolded. Last week, Marie Monville shared To Help You Heal – A Journey Through Brokenness. Marie entered the triage unit filled with people deep in grief and came alongside the hurting with spiritual and practical help designed to help turn hearts toward Jesus in those first days and months of darkness.
My heart resonated with Marie’s obvious passion for helping people in despair make one decision at a time.
I needed this kind of encouragement in those dark, dark days after the loss of our son. I couldn’t absorb much or process deep theology. I needed someone to come alongside of me, take my hand and gently encourage me to take one step at a time and choose to rest in Jesus. The Lord provided those people and oh, how grateful I am.
But there came a time when I needed more. I soon recognize my theology mattered and was a source of eternal comfort. As I learned more about God’s love for me, a love that sent His own Son to be crucified for His children, my trust in His sovereignty grew.
Over the next three weeks, Barbaranne Kelly takes us on a journey that builds on the strong foundation of God’s indescribable love. She takes us into the book of Hosea, an unlikely source of encouragement until you take the time to dig in and discover priceless treasures. Barbaranne shows us Jesus on every page and how Hosea’s marriage to Gomer, a whore, depicts our Father’s, fathomless love. Such love carried and still carries me.
Take time to soak in these devotionals. Sit with your journal and pen in hand and write out the treasures God reveals to you through this horrific story of loss and redemption. You may weep as you revel in God’s love for you.
What friends need to hear this message of God’s glorious grace that offers forgiveness of sins that never ends? Invite them to subscribe to Daily Treasure and share your thoughts about these truths.
