PRAYER FOR WISDOM ABOUT PEOPLE

People can be one of the greatest sources of joy in this life. They can also be one of the greatest sources of sorrow.
"Dear Heavenly Father, You showed us in the Garden of Eden that You desired a relationship with humankind. You wanted to walk with us and talk to our hearts. But we messed up. We sinned and that put up a barrier between us. And now we toil in our relationships with others. Lord, please begin by healing any breach that is between You and us. Nothing seems right in this world when there is a distance between us and we need to feel You nearby. Empower us to see what You are doing around us, especially in regards to other people. Give us Your eyes and Your heart for others. Show us when and how to reach out to people around us.
But also, please give us wisdom to know when to stand back. We never want to enable others to walk in sin. Help us to not get in the way of what You are doing in others’ lives. Empower us to show love, even if it means speaking words of truth. Protect us from people that would cause us needless harm. Give us wisdom not to walk into any traps set by others. Make us discerning to the details that we so often overlook. But more than anything, we ask that we would model an authentic love relationship with You so that others would be drawn to Your Son. In Jesus most holy and precious Name, Amen.
