Today’s Special is: Having a Meaningful Plan

Entrée:
I used to fight having a plan. Working at home was supposed to afford me the freedom and luxury of doing things on my own time table. But as the days went on in chaos, I realized that there were things that I wanted to do that never got done. The urgent things in life began to take over every day. This left me feeling discouraged, unproductive and defeated.
Once I created a simple plan and made it routine, I realized that the tasks that needed to be done were no longer such a big deal. They were smaller because I did them every day instead of waiting for them to get so big that they took ALL day. Doing one load of laundry each day helped me to avoid “Mount Washmore” and taking 15 minutes each night to pick up, kept the living room clutter free. And amazingly, I not only accomplished every task in my routine but I had time left to take a breath and relax.
God had a plan when He created the world, and the “plans of the Lord stand firm forever” (Psalm 33:11). If you find yourself filling each day with putting out fires, create a simple routine. Make it something like: make the bed, get dressed, read your Bible and do one load of laundry a day. Write in and share your daily routines with us.

Dear Lord, as we seek peace and pursue it in our busy lives, show us how to create routines which will give us rest. Thank You Lord that the peace which comes from You surpasses all understanding and guards our hearts and minds. Amen.
