There Will Be A Day

“Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.” Matthew 25:13 NIV
My husband threw his line into the glittering ocean as I relaxed and soaked in the peace of this beautiful, fall day.
A God moment interrupted the warm breeze and lull of the surf. My attention pivoted to four birds at the edge of the foamy surf.
Two birds watching, two birds sleeping.
Immediately, these words came to mind, "So stay awake and be prepared, because you do not know the day or hour of my return." Matthew 25:13
I'm not an "In your face" kind of witnessing girl, but I don't want to be afraid to share my faith either.
Afraidof what the person will think..."Wow, she's kinda out there with the Jesus stuff", "Just another Bible thumper", or afraid of being pushy and possibly turning the other person completely off.
Lately, my fears have shifted and this is what I'm really afraid of...the day I stand before His throne and He asks me, "Why didn't you tell her/him about Me?"
I imagine myself looking into the faces of those around His Throne and that person is not there. Maybe I was the last person given the opportunity to share Jesus with them. That's really scary!
No, I don't want to turn anyone off by sharing my faith, and I don't want to rely on my pitiful words to share Jesus.
I want to allow Him to use me to draw others closer to Him. I want to be available to be used by God to share my faith and point others to Christ.
I want to rely on the Holy Spirit to communicate the gospel. I want to be bold in these areas. I want to be ready, willing and able to always share the reason for the hope I have in Jesus Christ.
I've been praying Colossians 1:9-14 over myself, my family and friends. I'm praying these words over every person reading this blog. May God make us completely ready because There Will Be A Day.
“So, we have continued praying for you ever since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you a complete understanding of what He wants to do in your lives, and we ask Him to make you wise with spiritual wisdom.
The way you live will always honor and please the Lord and you will continually do good, kind things for others. All the while, you will learn to know God better and better.
We also pray that you will be strengthened with His glorious power so that you will have all the patience and endurance you need. May you be filled with joy, always thanking the Father who has enabled you to share the inheritance that belongs to God's holy people, who live in the light. For He has rescued us from the one who rules in the kingdom of darkness and He has brought us into the Kingdom of His dear Son. God has purchased our freedom with His blood and has forgiven all our sins.” Colossians 1:9-14
