Today’s Special is: Just One Portrait of Grace
Carefully prepared just for you by your friend, Carolyn Dale Newell
Main Ingredient:
And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
2 Corinthians 12:9 NKJV
Entrée:
May I take a few minutes to boast on God?
Sometimes, we become so accustomed to His Grace that we don’t properly thank Him. He gives me so much grace every day and I want to give Him praise for that. I also want others to recognize His Grace in me, so that they will praise Him too.
I describe my vision as “almost totally blind.” I still have a very small field of vision in the corners of my eyes. Most people don’t realize that my vision is that bad because they see how well I get along. What they are seeing is God’s Grace. I always praise God for everything that I can see.
The impending blindness is approaching and I have great appreciation for what I can see, especially God’s beautiful creation. I don’t see all the details in a flower like sighted people. I see color when there is contrast and some colors appear better in the sun, while others appear better on a cloudy day. I could walk by a flower garden and not see it. I have to get real close, moving my head trying to allow my tiny field of vision to pick it up.
When others think that I see more than I actually do, it reminds me that God’s Grace is shining through. His hand of protection surrounds me. He blesses me with glimpses of beauty that I know I normally cannot see. If you know me, praise God when you see me walking with my cane. If you read my devotions and I write about something I saw, Praise God for His Grace. His Grace is Amazing!
Take Out:
Where do you see God’s Grace in your life?
Praise God for that. Trust Him to strengthen you with His Grace during times of trouble.
Dessert:
Heavenly Father,
I am just one portrait of Your Amazing Grace. You bestow grace upon each of us in different ways according to our individual needs. Thank You for that personal attention and grace. Amen.
