Café Menu for Thursday, October 23, 2014

Today’s Special is: Be a Prayer Warrior

Carefully prepared just for you by your friend, Kelly Brown

Main Ingredient:

Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.

Galatians 6:2 NLT

Entrée:

Prayer.... Hmmm seems easy enough, but is it really? It's easy to respond, "Yes, I will pray for you" when someone says I have a prayer request; but do we really pray like it was our own need, or do we half-heartedly say Lord remember this need?

As I have grown closer to The Lord, I find that when I am asked to pray for someone else I try to remember what if this was my need, my child, my marriage, my family; would I pray differently?

Yes, I would, but God wants us to pray for others like we would for ourselves when others place their hearts and needs out for us to see. Shouldn't we pray diligently for them asking God’s mercy and grace for them?

Praying for others is a gift from God that we should use for the up building of His kingdom. When someone asks for prayer, pray diligently, seeking what God would have for you to pray. Be a prayer warrior for each other.

When God brings someone to mind, pray for them. You may be the only one praying. Let them know that you are praying for them. Encourage others and let them know you care. God cares about our needs and we should care about the needs of others.

Praying one for another seems like such a small thing but can make a big difference in your life and the life of others. Prayer changes things.  All we need is the faith of a mustard seed to believe that He can move that mountain.

Pray and believe!

Take Out:

Pray for others as if the prayer was for you!

Dessert:

Dear Lord thank You for allowing me to be a prayer warrior. I pray that when someone asks, that I can respond with a resounding, Yes, I will pray for you and mean that I will pray for them like I would want someone to pray for me. I thank You that when I can’t put into words what needs to be said that You understand and You hear my prayers. I love You Lord and I praise You in advance for Your answers to come. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.
