Receive What You Ask For
I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.
John 16:23, niv
Jesus said we are to ask if we want to receive.
My mother encouraged me as a little girl to pray specifically. She bought me a small white leather notebook, and in it I carefully recorded my requests. Then, at her instruction, I left a blank line under each one so I could record the date of the answer. In the front of the little book, she penned these words:
Thou art coming to a King,
Large petitions with thee bring,
For His grace and power are such,
None can ever ask too much!
So feel free to ask! But leave a blank space under your request so you can record the answer! Because Jesus said if we ask we will receive.

What are the secrets to a life of impact? Daniel achieved greatness in the eyes of his contemporaries, in the eyes of history, and most importantly, in the eyes of God. His faith did not waver as he faced his critics, as he served new kings in power, or even as he confronted hungry lions. How can we achieve that kind of faith today? Twenty intentional, key choices made all the difference. Daniel’s choices can be ours, such as:
• The choice to listen
• The choice to forgive
• The choice to pray
