Loved by God
“For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
For years I pictured God as a big, disappointed father in the sky. For far too long, I allowed my guilt and shame to infiltrate my thoughts. They not only clouded my judgment, they eventually got in the way of a loving relationship with Him.
But John 3:16 teaches us that “God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
God loves me. Here I imagined Him with His finger pointing down at me when the reality was and still is that He sent His son with arms stretched open wide to die for my sins.
Because of Jesus, I get to live a blessed and fulfilled life—and so do you.
