What’s Required of Me?
By Susan Aken
“From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.” Luke 12:48b
While praising God at a concert, He whispered to my heart: “To whom much is given, much is required.”
“What’s required, Lord?” I asked. “What does this mean?”
“What have you been given?”
“Lord, You’ve given me health and met my daily needs. You’ve provided opportunities to learn and grow, people that love me, and freedom to worship You. I’ve received love, joy, peace, forgiveness, grace, and truth, and I’ve learned to trust You.”
I suspect the same is true for you, and if so, God’s asking you to respond in kind.
If you’ve been given grace, give equal grace to others.
If you’ve received forgiveness, forgive others more.
If you’ve been encouraged, be quick to encourage.
If your physical needs are met, meet the needs of those around you.
If you know the truth, share it.
If you’re loved, then love freely.
If you’re strong, help the weak.
