A Prayer for Deep Faithfulness
By Ron Moore
Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants.- Psalm 116:15
Death is an unwelcome guest. We cringe at its arrival. But precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants.
Death is an untimely visitor. It always comes too soon. But precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants.
Death is an unwanted intruder. Even at the end of a long life we hang on. Still death barges in. But precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants.
Death always has its way. Sometimes arriving in a moment. Sometimes through a long illness. Sometimes through the process of aging. But precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants.
Death is the last enemy. There is no glamour in any part of its process. It is a thief coming to take away all we have known. But precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants.
For the believer death is only a transition. Because of Jesus we will pass from death to eternal life. That is why we can say: Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants.
Lord Jesus,
Teach us to be the servants you have called us to be. Help us to walk in humility, and to stand firm in our faith no matter how difficult the road becomes. Thank you that because of you we will only ever know the shadow of death- death will never have victory over our lives! Thank you for your steadfast love and faithfulness to my family and me. In Your Name we pray,
Amen.
