How to Plead the Blood of Jesus in Prayer and Scripture

How to Plead the Blood of Jesus in Prayer and Scripture
By pleading the blood of Jesus in prayer, I have seen relationships healed, physical needs provided, my finances protected, and many other things. God always answers the blood of Jesus!

Pleading the blood of Jesus is one of the most effective ways to pray that I have ever learned. When I present the blood of Jesus to Father God in prayer, it’s like I can sense a transaction taking place in Heaven. I can feel that I am praying God’s will for my life and that I’m giving Him permission to do all the radical things His Word says He wants to do.

By pleading the blood of Jesus in prayer, I have seen relationships healed, physical needs provided, my finances protected, and many other things. God always answers the blood of Jesus!

The Blood of Jesus in Scripture

Look at what the Bible says in Hebrews 10:19-23:

“Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful” (NKJV, emphasis mine).

This passage tells us that blood of Jesus was the currency that Jesus poured out (in obedience to the Father) that bought us access to God Himself.

Blood of Jesus Bible Verses

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. ~ 1 John 1:7

Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins. ~ Hebrews 9:22

How much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God. ~ Hebrews 9:14

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. ~ 1 John 1:7-9

Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. ~ Romans 5:9

We always hear that Jesus’ blood bought us forgiveness of sins, healing, and eternal life; and of course, those things are true. However, healing, forgiveness, etc are like raindrops falling from a big cloud in the spiritual sky. And unfortunately, we tend to look only at the raindrops, without ever noticing the glorious, over-arching cloud overhead!

So what is that cloud? What is the link that ties everything together? The glorious “cloud” that Jesus purchased for us with His blood is the wonder of complete and total access to God, to an intimate relationship with Him, and to everything He wants for us.

Jesus’ blood purchased complete and total one-ness with God for us, His adopted children. That blood made a way for us to know God, to dwell with Him, to abide in Christ Jesus, and to receive everything our Father has so that His will can be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Isn’t that amazing?

How to Plead the Blood of Jesus in prayer

  • Ask God of what His will is (as revealed in Scripture);
  • Ask God that Jesus poured out His blood on the cross so that Father’s will could be carried out; and
  • Pray that the Father carry out His perfect will based on the blood of Jesus, which is the legal currency with which He purchased our victory.

God the Father loves justice, so praying like that will get you answers quickly!

Would you like some examples to get you started? Two of the most common prayer requests I receive are for people’s finances and health.

Two Blood of Jesus Prayers

1. Praying for your finances:

Heavenly Father, I come before You in Jesus’ name. Father God, thank You that Jesus died for me to have complete and total access to You, and to everything You are.

Father, You are my Provider. You are an abundant God and You have abundance in Heaven. So Father, in Jesus’ name, I am asking that You provide abundantly for my needs today. (Describe your specific needs.) Your word says that You shall supply all my needs according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus, and those riches in Jesus go beyond anything I could imagine.

So Lord, thank You for performing Your Word. I present the blood of Jesus to You as my legal evidence that I can receive everything You’ve promised, and I plead Jesus’ blood over my finances.

Father God, let everything Jesus died for me to be and to have be manifest in my life. Let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done today just as Your will is done in heaven, especially in my finances.

Thank You, Father God, for providing all my needs, and thank You for being my Father who provides for me. Thank You for the blood of Jesus. In His precious name I pray. Amen.

2.  Praying for your health:

Heavenly Father, I come before You in Jesus’ name. Father God, thank You that Your Word says I should prosper and be in health, even as my soul prospers. Thank You that Your Word says I am healed by the stripes of Jesus, and that You sent Your Word, Jesus, and healed my disease.

So Father God, because of the blood Jesus shed on Calvary—that same blood that made a way for me to approach You and receive forgiveness for all of my sins—and because of the terrible, bloody scourging Jesus endured to purchase my healing, I ask right now that You would heal my body. Let Your healing power course through my veins right now, and heal me from the top of my head to the soles of my feet.

Lord Jesus, because You paid the price with Your blood and body for me to be healed right now, please make my body come into alignment with the perfect healing You paid for me to have. Let my brain think right in every area. Let my organs function perfectly. Let my blood be full of the right things and free from the wrong things. Remove every invading germ, virus, bacteria, malfunction, and malignant cell from my body, and restore any damage done to my body by past sicknesses.

Thank You, Father. Thank You that these things are done for me by the blood of Jesus. I receive Your healing right now, and I give You all the praise. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Our Heavenly Father is merciful and gracious. He is also a fair, just, and righteous Judge. And when we present our “case” before His throne of grace in prayer, we can insist that He carry out His will for us based on the legal evidence of Jesus’ blood.

The price for Father’s will to be done was completely paid on the cross. The blood of Jesus is all-sufficient. And when we present that blood to our Father in faith, He will move Heaven and earth to bring Jesus the reward of His suffering in our lives.
