5 Easter Crafts for the Entire Family

Easter is a day in which we remember the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is a unique day of the year that does not need to be overlooked. During the Easter holiday, we celebrate with our loved ones, and we make many memories. Adding a few fun crafts is an excellent addition to the Easter celebration. Even if not everyone in your family loves crafts, doing a few Easter crafts can still bring joy to the family.

Not only are crafts fun to do, but they also become decorations you can set up for the holiday season. If you have kids, they will love making crafts and doing something creative. They will feel great happiness when they complete their craft, and you put it on display for everyone to see. If you want to try a few Easter crafts this year, here are five to consider completing.

1. Floral Candles

1. Floral Candles

One Easter craft for the entire family is floral candles. This craft is one of the trickier crafts, but it is fun to try. Once you complete this craft, you will be able to use it as a candle. Candles are practical crafts; you can use them to add more light, calmness, and peace to your household. If you are looking for a beautiful yet challenging craft, floral candles are definitely the Easter craft for you.

Instructions on how to make floral candles can be found here. These crafts are beautiful to display in your home as they will ensure your house feels like springtime. Even if you must stay indoors for many days because of rainy spring weather, you can still see beautiful flowers displayed on the candles. There is an afternoon to do this craft, and your entire family will compliment you on this lovely craft.

 2. Painted Easter Eggs

A second Easter craft for the entire family is painting Easter eggs. While this is a typical craft to do on Easter, it is worth including. Most of us love the traditional egg painting, so including this craft in your Easter Day celebration would be great. You will need eggs, paint, paintbrushes, washcloths, and creativity to make this craft. If you do this craft with your kids, please make sure they are supervised to keep them safe.

You can boil the eggs or keep them raw. Either way, it will ensure the paint stays on. Depending on how old your kids are may impact your decision, but know that either way will work. You can start painting your eggs when you get all your supplies. Allow yourself and your kids to be creative in their designs.

There are no rules when it comes to painting the eggs. You can paint polka dots, zig-zags, or splatter paint. You could include other craft supplies, such as felt, feathers, or stickers, to make your eggs unique. Be creative in your designs and ensure each child puts their name or initial on their egg to remember which one is theirs. Although painted Easter eggs are not a craft you will be able to keep, you can take photographs of them to ensure you always remember the beautiful eggs your child made on Easter.

3. Egg Tree

A third Easter craft for the entire family is an egg tree. While an egg tree might initially sound strange or even funny, it is the perfect craft and decoration for your Easter celebration. My mom created this craft as a child as part of our Easter decorating process. My mom would buy plastic eggs from the store, cut yarn into loops to place between the clasps of the egg to make the egg hang like a decoration, and then put the eggs on the tree outside.

This way, our small tree would be decorated with colorful Easter eggs throughout spring. You will need a pack of plastic eggs, craft yarn, scissors, and a tree to place your eggs on for this craft. When you cut the yard, cut the yarn in 8-10 inch sections to have enough space to hang the eggs on the tree. This is an easy craft; however, your kids can be involved in it.

If they are not old enough to use scissors, you can let them be the ones to hang up the eggs on three. As the parent, you can cut the yarn and place them inside the plastic eggs. After you and your children put the eggs on the tree, you will have a beautifully colorful, decorated egg tree. If you love doing something unique and creative, you must try this craft that doubles as a decoration with your family.

4. Easter Wreath

A fourth Easter craft for the entire family is an Easter wreath. Like the floral candles, this craft will take longer, but creating with your hands is wonderful. Creating something yourself that you can place on display gives you a sense of accomplishment and purpose. Even though many people would not see crafts as doing anything to contribute to society, they are significant in increasing your happiness and well-being and giving you quality time with your family.

An excellent website with information on how to make an Easter wreath can be found here. This wreath is unique among other Easter wreaths because it is rooted in the true meaning of Easter—the resurrection of Jesus. As stated earlier, this wreath will take an afternoon to make with your children, but it is an enriching experience. As you make this craft with your children, you will be able to help teach them about the resurrection.

In truth, this is the most essential part of Easter. It is not the eggs, the cute decorations, or the springtime animals. Instead, the true meaning of Easter is how Jesus conquered death and was resurrected from the grave. Through Jesus, we have been given salvation if we place faith in Him (John 10:28). This is a beautiful truth to teach your children and help lay a biblical foundation for their lives.

5. Decorated Crosses

5. Decorated Crosses

A fifth Easter craft for the entire family is decorated crosses. Jesus was crucified on the cross, died, was buried, and then rose back to life. Even though the cross was once viewed in a negative light, through Jesus, it has now become a symbol of Christianity. The cross is significant for the life of the Christian because it helps us remember Jesus and all that He has done for us. Doing a craft such as this is a great way to bring Him glory.

Here is a great craft for decorated crosses. This craft is great for kids of all ages and adults. While many of us streamline crafts for kids, they can be for everyone. You might want to keep this specific craft with you throughout your life to help point you back to Jesus during Easter and every day of the year. Remembering Jesus, His love, and His sacrifice for us is pleasing.
