Summer is the time of year when many families like to go on vacation. The kids are out of school, the weather is warm, and it's a great time for a roadtrip! There are many places to choose from around the country (and even around the world!), but parents may want to consider taking their families to a place where they will not only have fun, but will learn about the Bible and be encouraged in their faith. Below are seven places in different parts of the country that provide fun, educational, and edifying experiences for the whole family!

1. Creation Museum
"The state-of-the-art Creation Museum allows you to venture through biblical history, stunning exhibits, botanical gardens, planetarium, petting zoo, zip line adventure course, and much more. This 75,000-square-foot facility has welcomed over 2.5 million guests since opening in Petersburg, Kentucky," advertises the Museum's website.
Unlike most museums which assume the truth of the Theory of Evolution, the Creaton Museum allows families to explore the earth God created from a biblical perspective.
While you are in the area, you will definitely also want to check out Ark Encounter--a life-sized replica of Noah's Ark which is the brainchild of well-known Christian apologist Ken Ham.

2. Ark Encounter
The Ark Encounter in Williamstown, Kentucky takes you on a historical journey back to the time of Noah's Ark. The experience's main attraction is a life-sized replica of Noah’s Ark based on the dimensions given in the Bible.
According to the Ark Encounter's website, the shop is 510 feet long, 85 feet wide and 51 feet high. Inside the three-story ship, visitors will see teaching exhibits that theorize what the flood may have been like, how Noah may have cared for the animals, and much more.
Once you're done exploring the ark, kids can play on a family playground. Visitors can also choose to go zip lining, free fall jumping or participate in an areal course at the Ark Encounter's Screaming Eagle outdoor adventure course or visit the attraction's Ararat Ridge Zoo, where biblical lessons on the animal kingdom are provided.

3. The Biblical History Center
The Biblical History Center, located in LaGrange, Georgia, provides a fun, yet educational experience that will allow you and your family to encounter life during the time of the Bible.
At the Biblical History Center – which is a non-profit organization – you can walk through and explore replicas of ancient cities and villages, observe daily life artifacts from ancient times, share a Passover-styled meal similar to the meal Jesus ate at the Last Supper, listen to lectures and more.
For the more hands-on experience, The Biblical history Center also offers an archeological dig experience where kids can participate in a supervised replicated archeological dig.
According to the organization's website, its goal is to "help people understand the Bible and the ancient world in its historical and cultural context."

The Museum of the Bible in Washington D.C. will not actually be open to the public until fall, but perhaps you and your family may want to take a field trip even once school starts again.
"The museum in Washington, D.C. will be housed in a 430,000-square-foot building just two blocks from the National Mall and three blocks from the nation’s Capitol, and it will open in the fall of 2017," says the Museum's website. "It will provide guests with an immersive and personalized experience as they explore the history, narrative, and impact of the Bible.
Museum of the Bible will be an unparalleled experience, using cutting-edge technology to bring the Bible to life. It will span time, space, and cultures, inviting everyone to engage with the Bible. Although this one isn't a specific place or location, it may be a great way to have fun with your family while being encouraged in your faith.
There are several cruises out there which are family friendly and include Christian seminars, inspirational speakers and preachers, and spirtually uplifting entertainment and often performances by well-known worship bands.
Cruises are also a great way to see places that you may not be able to afford if you opted for a more traditional vacation with the need for separate travel and lodging.
