A new month is ahead and for many, that means a fresh, new start. Maybe that’s exciting for you because life is great and new opportunities have recently opened. Or maybe you’ve just faced a difficult season and are feeling desperate and weary from life’s pressures – praying for better days in the coming month. Wherever you find yourself right now, be reminded that you’re never alone. God knows your way and He cares. He promises to give rest and peace to all who come to Him.
Here’s a prayer for a new month and hope-filled reminders that He’s paving your way for greater blessings still in store.
Dear God, Thank you for a new month and for your powerful Presence with us. Even with all the cares and burden we’ve carried, we know you have great purpose in these next days, and we’re grateful that your plans are for good. We give you praise, for your mercies are new every morning, and your faithfulness is greater than we could ever imagine.
We thank you Lord for your constant care, love, and blessing over our lives. Your favor has no end, and you promise to always be with us. We choose to walk in your goodness today; we ask for your face to shine on us. Establish the work of our hands and bring to fulfillment all that you have given us to do in these days. We pray that you would make our way purposeful and our footsteps firm. We ask for your power to open up the right doors for our lives and our loved ones. And we trust your Sovereignty to close every wrong door and to protect us from those things we need to walk away from. Give us a heart of wisdom to hear your voice and make us strong by your Spirit.
Forgive us for doubting you, for worrying, and for trying so hard to work everything out on our own. Help us to trust you more, help us in our unbelief. Forgive us for picking back up what we already determined to lay down at your feet. Give us a heart that finds rest in your presence. We choose to recognize and believe that you are able to accomplish far more, to do far greater, than we even thought possible.
Thank you that your yoke is easy and your burden is light. Thank you that you care for us and that the peace of your loving and strong presence guards and protects our hearts and minds in you. Thank you that we never have to walk in fear or live in constant worry and stress. We’re so grateful for your voice that breaks through even the greatest difficulties swirling around us, whispering, “Peace, be still.”
We pray you would make us courageous for the road ahead. Give us ability beyond what we feel able. Let your gifts flow freely through us, so that you would be honored by our lives, and others would be drawn to you.
We pray for your protection and care over our families this new month. We ask for your hand to cover us all, and to keep us far from the evil plans of the enemy. Be a shield and barrier to surround us, that we’d be safe in your hands. We pray that you would give us spiritual discernment and insight, to understand your will, hear your voice, and know your ways.
Shine your light in us, through us, over us. May we make a difference in this world, for your glory and purposes. Set your way before us, for all your plans will succeed. May we reflect your love to a world that so desperately needs your hope and healing.
Lord, open our eyes to see the power in your word. Open our ears to know what you are saying. Fill us with your Holy Spirit and draw us close into your Presence. We love you and we fully depend on you this next month ahead. Thank you for your huge grace that carries us through each new day.
In Jesus' Name,
Amen.

We know that God is with us.
God never promised that our way would always be easy, or that His Presence with us meant a life of convenience or comfort. But He did promise this over and over in His word: He would be “with us” in it all and would never leave us. His very name, “Immanuel” reminds us of this comforting truth. We may not always see or feel it, but in every moment of every day, we can be assured our faithful God is with us and carrying us through.
We know that God is in control.
We have no reason to give way to worry when God is the One who holds us secure. He is our refuge and strength. He promises to fight for us through every battle. He redeems us and calls us by name. His protection surrounding us is powerful and real. Though things in this life may often feel uncertain, we never have to be shaken. Our mighty God is Sovereign, and nothing takes Him by surprise.
We know that His plans for us are good.
God alone has the power to make a way where there seems to be no way. We don’t have to stay stuck in the past or fear the future. He reminds us not to dwell on what’s behind us, but brings us into new places, and opens up doors that may otherwise be impossible to walk through. No matter what we’ve walked through in recent days, He is faithful to turn it around for greater good and blessing than we could have ever imagined.
“The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace.” (Numbers 6:24-26)
“Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” (Isaiah 43:19)
“Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3:22-23)
“Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead.” (Philippians 3:13)
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11)
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7)
“But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:31)
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
“May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.” (Psalm 20:4)
