In the journey of motherhood, the baggage of the past may weigh heavily on the shoulders: the guilt over perceived shortcomings, the worry about the uncertainties ahead, and the burden of unmet expectations. Yet, the essence of Christian living beckons mothers to release these burdens, for the Lord promises to carry our loads (Psalm 55:22).

Starting each day with a clean slate is a spiritual act of surrender, letting go of past mistakes, and trusting in God's grace to pave the way for a brighter future. As a Christian mom, it's a reminder that His mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22–23), offering a chance for redemption and restoration.

Starting afresh doesn't mean dismissing the lessons learned but rather carrying the wisdom gained forward. It's an acknowledgment that, through Christ, old things have passed away and all things have become new (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Forgive as the Lord forgave you."

Recognizing the detrimental impact of anger is the first step toward liberation. Rather than being overwhelmed with fear, strive to build your trust in God’s faithfulness. Mind you, having confidence in God's faithfulness involves a continuous reflection on His promises. Romans 8:28 serves as an anchor: "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." This reminder empowers you to face the unknown with assurance in God's unwavering love for you and your children.

3. Comparison

Comparison, pervasive and insidious baggage, requires intentional release. Galatians 6:4 says, "Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone without comparing themselves to someone else."

The perilous trap of constantly comparing oneself to other moms is laden with detrimental consequences. It breeds discontentment, fosters insecurity, and undermines the unique qualities and strengths that each mother brings to her family.

Embracing one's unique journey as a Christian mother involves recognizing that God has crafted an individual purpose for each woman. Comparisons diminish the understanding of the intricate plan God has designed for one's life. Psalm 139:14 beautifully reinforces this truth: "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful; I know that full well."

4. Guilt

The weight of believing you're not doing enough or striving for unattainable perfection can be heavy baggage that hinders spiritual growth and hampers the joy intended for the family.

In acknowledging the imperfections inherent in the human experience, you find solace and guidance in the reassuring words of 2 Corinthians 12:9: "But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Proverbs 16:9 reinforces this understanding: "In their hearts, humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps." It's an acknowledgment that while planning is essential, God is ultimately in control, and His plan is filled with grace for the imperfect moments.

6. Self-neglect

Mark 6:31 says, "Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, 'Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”

8. Busyness over Presence

Amidst the demands of your daily schedules, it's essential to remember the profound importance of being present in the lives of your children and spouse. The Lord says in Psalm 46:10, "Be still and know that I am God."

9. Doubt in God's Plan
