2 Daughters Sing Sweet Tribute to Late Grandfather While Dad Cries

Listen to these two daughters sing a sweet tribute to their late grandfather while their dad cries in the car. The video is sure to make you reach for some tissues!

The father in the car is Jewell Richins, and according to his YouTube account, he is “just a dad who loves his kids & has a ton of fun raising them.” In Jewell’s YouTube videos, he is always joined by his talented daughters who sing their hearts out while in the car.

In this particular video, the girls are singing a tribute to their grandfather and Jewell’s father-in-law, Joe Hill. “This goes out to my father #2, dialysis ends & a new journey begins,” Jewell writes in the caption of the video. “We will never forget you, Joe Hill.”

Jewell’s daughters start to sing ‘Rise Up’ by Andra Day, and this heartwarming song highlights their beautiful voices and the emotions that they all must be feeling right now.

“You're broken down and tired of living life on a merry go round, and you can't find the fighter
But I see it in you so we gonna walk it out, and move mountains, we gonna walk it out
And move mountains, and I'll rise up, I'll rise like the day, I'll rise up, I'll rise unafraid, I'll rise up
And I'll do it a thousand times again, and I'll rise up, high like the waves, I'll rise up
In spite of the ache, I'll rise up, and I'll do it a thousand times again, for you”

As his two daughters sing, Jewell becomes overwhelmed with emotion as he takes it all in. At different points in the song and as he wipes away his tears, Jewell points to the camera in honor of his father-in-law. “I love you, Joe,” he says while the girls are singing.

What a beautiful and emotional performance, and it is wonderful that these family members have each other to lean on during this difficult time.
