Bass Singer Performs Chilling 'The Sound of Silence' Cover
Check out this talented bass singer performing a chilling rendition of the song ‘The Sound Of Silence’ by Simon and Garfunkel.
“Hello, darkness, my old friend, I've come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping, left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain still remains
Within the sound of silence”
The bass singer in the video is Geoff Castellucci, and he has such an incredible voice!
“‘The Sound of Silence’ has been requested by you lovely folks so many times that I figured that I'd better get to it, so I did, and here it is. I hope you like this version as much as I enjoyed creating it for you. Thanks for watching!” Geoff writes on his YouTube page.
He continues by adding a little background to the song: “‘The Sound of Silence” was originally recorded and released by Simon and Garfunkel in 1964. It was promptly ignored by mainstream radio until it became an unlikely hit in Florida, of all places. The tune has been covered by all manner of artists but probably most notably by Disturbed, and now, um...by me (wink wink, nudge nudge). Hugs, y'all!”
Many people on YouTube were blown away by Geoff’s version of this song and shared their thoughts online.
“This is a whole emotional journey. There's a wistful sort of sadness at the beginning that's just achingly beautiful. Then, a burst of fierce triumph from rockstar Geoff. And then quiet, measured, and meditative at the end. Really brilliant,” one person writes after watching the music video.
“How can something be so deep and also have such a warm tone to it? I’m completely impressed by the feelings coming through every line. Even the country twang that is in it has purpose and soul,” another person comments online.
We hope that you enjoyed watching this rendition of ‘The Sound Of Silence’ today!
