Choir's Beautiful Rendition of 'He Hideth My Soul'

A massive choir turned in a beautiful and awe-inspiring rendition of the beloved church hymn “He Hideth My Soul.”

The world is often a cold, cruel, and callous place. Life can be a rather unpleasant and unfair experience, with certain situations and circumstances causing incredible pain, hurt and sorrow. Sadly, we’ll all endure such heartbreaking and gut-wrenching incidents.

But no matter how painful or distressing a situation may get, we serve a God who offers comfort and protection. He gives rest to the weary and shelter from every one of life’s many storms. Trying to go through those situations only with one’s power and strength is a foolhardy plan destined to fail.

However, God offers us strength, guidance, and protection to see us through any situation. In a clip posted on YouTube, a choir of incredibly gifted vocalists gave a moving rendition of a classic hymn that explains how God offers such rest, protection, and safety during life’s many storms.

Many are likely incredibly familiar with “He Hideth My Soul” and can sing that classic hymn entirely by heart. But regardless of how many times you’ve heard that church tune, the words are still as valid today as when you first heard it. The lyrics are promises we can place our trust in and on during life’s unbearable and overwhelming moments.

The song’s second verse is particularly moving. It describes how Christ provides strength and love in our time of need.

“A wonderful Savior is Jesus, my Lord
He taketh my burden away
He holdeth me up, and I will not be moved
He giveth me strength as my day”

We can hold onto those words whenever we encounter one of those deep, dark, and lonely valleys. Christ keeps us in His hand and under His protection.

Deuteronomy 31:6: “Be strong and take heart, and have no fear of them: for it is the Lord your God who is going with you; he will not take away his help from you.”
