If you want wisdom, ask God and He'll give it to you. – James 1:5

Wisdom is having a practical judgment concerning things to be acted on or avoided. In James 1:5 wisdom is pointing us to the right conduct. This wisdom guides us when we face trials. It shows us the right next step when the path ahead feels unclear.

How often do we feel like the path ahead feels hazy as parents?

Sometimes I feel like I am desperate to just know how to handle each moment of the day with grace much less see how my actions now relate to the ultimate goal I hold as a parent to raise kids that grow to love the Lord with all their heart, mind, soul, and strength and love their neighbors as themselves. But wisdom keeps us faithful to the path of truth and goodness that God calls us to walk on. We need God’s guiding wisdom to lead our homes towards Heaven.

Some of the best parenting advice I ever received was to parent with the end in mind

Oftentimes, we find ourselves faced with choices on how to raise our kids, and rather than being intentional, we just take the next step that matches the world around us. I am convinced that now more than ever the powers of this world are desperately working to steal the hope, peace, and futures of our kids. If we follow the wisdom of the world, more often than not our kids are led away from God’s best for their future.
