Brad Arnold, the lead singer of the rock group 3 Doors Down, spoke of Christ’s love during one of the band’s concerts, making for a powerful moment.
Many people today are broken and lost, feeling alone and unloved. They erroneously believe, for one reason or another, that no one cares or loves them and that their lives mean nothing. They believe there is no hope and see no end to their struggle and pain. People are in desperate need of Christ’s love, healing, and forgiveness. But how can they accept or receive something they have never heard of? That’s why it’s so crucial for Christians to share the message of Christ’s love. That was exactly what the lead singer of 3 Doors Down did during one of the band’s concert stops.
A clip posted on YouTube captures Brad, the singer of songs like “Kryptonite” and “Here Without You,” addressing a crowd of thousands. Brad admits that he typically doesn’t speak much during concerts but that “something was put on my heart.” He informs concertgoers that they matter, and even when they feel alone and broken, Jesus Christ loves them.
Brad says that the world constantly tells people they don’t deserve love. He goes on to add that people are repeatedly told that they are not good enough in this or that way, that they don’t measure up, and that they fail to miss the mark.
“They’re driven down our throats every single day, that we’ll never be good enough, and that nobody really, really loves us,” he said. “But my friends, I just want to take a second to tell you that’s an absolute lie. You are loved. You are loved, and you are enough, and you will win. Not only can you win, but you will win. And you’ll always be enough for one reason, and that’s because Jesus Christ loves you.”
Later in the clip, Brad states that Christ's love for us remains even in our many stumbles, falls, and failures.
Before the end of the clip, Brad asks if the crowd would do him a favor and repeat some words after him.
“I am the one that Jesus loves,” Brad says.
What a powerful and moving moment of someone using their platform and influence to share the love of Christ with thousands.
Romans 5:8 “But God has made clear his love to us, in that, when we were still sinners, Christ gave his life for us.”
