Lindy Bryson, a North Carolina-based singer-songwriter, stopped by the CCM Café and gave us this fantastic, beautiful acoustic performance of her song “Built on God’s Love.” The talented young musician shines in the nearly four-minute clip. Love is easily the most powerful emotion and force on Earth. It can and will get people to do and act in ways they would not otherwise. God’s immense, unending, awe-inspiring love for us is why He sent His only Son to Earth, taking our place on the cross. As the Bible mentions, Christ demonstrated His love for us in that when we were still sinners, He died for us.
Additionally, love is a subject that has kept musicians, songwriters and authors busy for centuries. And it’s likely to remain that way for the foreseeable future. Nearly every song you hear on the radio, Apple Music, Spotify or any other music streaming platform is about love in some form or fashion. Those songs may and will vary in the specific kind of love, but it is still about love, nonetheless.
Before her “Built on God’s Love” performance, Lindy explains the meaning behind her tune and why it is so special to her.
“This song talks about the house I grew up in, and the church I grew up in and how those two buildings are so special to me,” she said. “But it would be nothing without the love of God that comes from inside.”
“Yes, just a pile of bricks and lumber
But it’s a part of me forever
It’s where I grew up
It’s a house built on God’s love”
