Family relationships are very special. The musical talent shared between Willie and his son, Lukas, is a wonderful gift. Lukas begins in this unique black-and-white video. There are clips of him and his father playing guitar from years past. Throughout the video, you see a father teaching his son, laughing with him, and playing music together. As he sings about being best friends with his dad, we see precious photographs of Lukas as a young boy with his father. The bond between a dad and his son is precious and unique. When they can be friends, that is even sweeter.

Willie’s life has been dedicated to music and sharing his songs with the world. His son was able to get a front-row seat to his father’s career. We see clips where Lukas performs on the stage with his dad through the years.

The Chorus sings:

“My best friend
He’s Been there and back again
Never lost a minute of his style”

He shares that his dad is in his heart even when they are not together. At the end of the video, he says, “Happy Birthday Dad” with his bandmates. Willie Nelson is 91 years old. God has given him a long life on this earth. The legacy we leave makes a difference. Willie has impacted his son Lukas. Ultimately, how has Jesus impacted you? What kind of legacy do you hope to leave for His name? He is the Father of all who believe in Him. He is our best friend.

“No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.” John 15:15
