The song ‘Hello Darlin’ was written by Conway Twitty, and it was his first single and title track for the album of the same name. It was released in March 1970 and became Conway Twitty‘s fourth #1 hit on the US Billboard Hot Country Singles chart.
‘Hello Darlin’ spent a total of four weeks at number one on the charts and was also named as the number one song of 1970. The song was also nominated for Country Music Association Award for Song of the Year and Country Music Association Award for Single of the Year. In 1999, ‘Hello Darlin’ was added to the Grammy Hall of Fame, and its years of popularity made it an iconic country classic.
