The Nelons' Soul-Stirring 'If God Pulled Back The Curtain' Acoustic Performance from CCM Magazine on GodTube.

Sadly, The Nelons were involved in a tragic plane crash on July 26, 2024. When the accident occurred, the family was en route to join the Gaither Homecoming Cruise to Alaska. The crash claimed the lives of Jason and Kelly Nelon Clark, their daughter Amber and son-in-law Nathan Kistler, their assistant Melodi Hodges, and the pilot Larry Haynie and his wife Melissa. Before their performance, Kelly mentions that they are going to sing "If God Pulled Back the Curtain." She states that the song is one of her favorites and that she loves the beautiful, awe-inspiring image of Heaven the lyrics create.

"It's about when God pulls back the curtain, and you get a glimpse of Heaven," she said. "And you'll see singers, and preachers and thieves. And, and there's a great line at the end of this song, and I'm not going to give it away. But you need to listen through this whole thing and get that last line."

As Kelly mentions, the lyrics are lovely and heartfelt. The tune's opening verse accurately describes Heaven as where broken hearts are mended, and peace is finally found.

"If God pulled back the curtain and let us see the other side

In that place, we call forever, just beyond goodbye

I bet there's some preachers, I know there'd be some thieves

And I think there'd be some broken hearts finally at peace."

What an interesting thought and premise for a song. Who wouldn't want a minute, even a few seconds, to look at Heaven and see loved ones again?

Getting a glimpse of Heaven would be a glorious and wondrous sight, of course. It’s a sight that Kelly, Jason and Amber are all getting to see and experience right now.

Our thoughts and prayers are with their family as they travel this dark valley. May the Lord wrap His loving and comforting arms around them.

Psalm 23:4 "Yes, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me."
