Young Man’s ‘Hallelujah’ Performance on The Voice Earns Standing Ovation
One contestant's inspired and stirring performance of a beloved classic had The Voice judges and the studio audience on their feet, wildly applauding his outstanding rendition.
Leonard Cohen’s hit song “Hallelujah” from 1984 has been performed thousands of times by hundreds of musicians. A quick YouTube search of “Hallelujah Leonard Cohen” results in dozens of covers, including those by popular acts, Pentatonix and Bon Jovi. Nearly 40 years after the song was released, it remains as popular as ever.
In a clip posted on YouTube, one man, Micha, a contestant on The Voice France, sang the track from the 1980s during his latest appearance on the popular program.
The performance begins with Micha singing while wearing a gold-colored suit and standing on a platform. After he sings a few lyrics, three other singers, dressed in all black, walk out onto the stage and sit on the platform's steps.
Then around the 55-second mark of the clip, those watching at home get a view of the entire stage. On both sides of the stage stand approximately 10 additional singers belting the lyrics to the Leonard Cohen hit.
Micha gives an impassioned performance, thrilling the judges and the audience. Several in the audience can be heard absolutely screaming in delight at the conclusion of the performance.
The young man obviously has a ton of talent and knocked the song out of the park. He even managed to change one YouTube commenter’s mind by the conclusion of his performance.
“I have heard that song so many times that at first, I thought, oh no, please don’t. But Micha really gave his all and killed it!!!! Beautiful, I could listen to him sing it every day! Bravo," one person posted.
Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
